Me being the slacker that I am, I haven't gotten my blog all Whirlygigged out...HOWEVER...I am changing it to another kit by Leah..but I'm not sharing which one yet so you'll just have to wait and see!

I've been on the Pebbles Inc team for a year now, and have loved every minute of it! I have some projects I've made over the past couple of months that I thought I'd share! The first one was for a Spring Theme Challenge. The one thing that always reminds me of spring is my mom's tulips. I love tulips and these cheesy photos of Hayden were perfect for the theme.

This next layout was introducing the line "Twitterpated" to the world. I love this line because I have so many little girl pictures because of Miss Suzi and my many little nieces. Miss Leah here somehow has become the subject of many Pebbles Inc layouts, but how could I resist the cute pics of this cutie that always happens to match the paper I'm about to use?

For the next project, I was introducing the line "May Bouquet". For this project I made some cards and it was so quick and easy using the sheets of premade 3" cards that come in 12x12 sheets. Pebbles introduced new items this year with more rub-ons, flowers and these cool things called stackers.

For the month of June, one of the projects that I was assigned to was to make something for or about Father's day. I love the Treehouse line and knew it would be perfect for a card for my own dad. Like the alpha stickers? That's something else that was added to the new lines.

The last project I would like to share was for Sketchy Thursdays. This layout was a fun one for me. I used the Treehouse line again (can you tell it's my favorite?) and made this layout of Miss Suzi in one of her arranged poses. I love the silliness that my children posses.

This layout uses a stacker that I mentioned. It's that big red flower. Also notice the glittery alpha? Yeah, the alpha stickers come in glitter form. I love it!

I'll be changing the look of my blog using this amazing kit by Leah aka Bluebird Chic from Miss Tiina's shop.

I love knowing how to digi scrap..although I still consider myself quite the beginner, I'm learning. And being able to make my own backgrounds for my blogger is a lot of fun. Especially cuz the kits I usually use are made by Leah and they are FANTASTIC! Here's a layout I did using the Whirlygig kit. I also used distressing from her Stained and Splattered, an alpha from Sweet as Honey and parts from her previous "Cherry Pie" and "Bitty Alphabet" kits.

So you may see my blog change a little, or a lot..lol..but when the background matches the widgets, I should be done! Thanks for Stopping by!

Hey everybody! We are so thrilled to announce the Pebbles Inc 2010 - 2011 Design Team call for applications! We are looking for talented and committed designers who love to create with Pebbles products. To apply, please email pebblesincdt@gmail.com with the following information:

A little bit about yourself. When did you start scrapbooking? How would you define your style? What do you love about Pebbles products? Are you on any other design teams? Have you been published before? It doesn't need to be a book but we want to be able to get a good sense of who you are and your papercrafting history. Please note that previous design team experience is not required. Be sure to include your name and your hometown as well.
A link to your online gallery and/or blog so that we may see samples of your various papercrafting projects. If you have a scrapbook resume we would love to see that as well.
A scan or photograph of two (2) scrapbook layouts, one (1) card, and one (1) other project that showcases your style. We would prefer to see projects that utilize Pebbles products however all applications will be considered.

All applications must be received by July 23, 2010 to be considered. Those individuals chosen to join the team will be notified via email and the new team will be announced here on the blog in early August. New design team members will serve for one (1) year beginning in September 2010 and will be required to submit two (2) assignments monthly. Compensation for published work using Pebbles product per our Pebbles Pays program is provided.

I've been playing more with digi again. One thing that makes it easier while you're learning things is using templates that people put out. They are like sketches but you just clip papers and elements and pictures to fit into the places already set like this one:

I can't remember where I got this one from, I think it was from www.freedigitalscrapbooking.com. Anyways here's what I did with it. I used various kits from Designs by Leah at Funky Playground Designs, including "Green Peace", "Happy Camper" and "Cherry Pie" The font is one I made for ACBailey, and here it is!

Since I joined Leah's Creative team, I've been trying to play with digital more and doing more than just layering and shadow dropping. Layout sharing!

I hadn't realized it's been awhile since I've shared some layouts. The first one is made using all Pebbles Inc products from the product line "Little Miss"

This one uses papers from "So Tweet" and Pebbles Chips and ribbon! (Alpha is from American Crafts)

This next one also uses products from skipping along. I used my cricut and sure-cuts-alot for the title, but everything else is pebbles! To do the dotted borders, turn your paper to the backside and poke with a pin or paper peircer, then turn over and sand, the core will show through and I love this look!

This is using the Skipping Along collection, Chips and ribbon. Alpha by American Crafts.

This one uses papers from the "Lil' Buddy" collection and various Chips and ribbon.

Now a few digital layouts! I'm still a pretty newish digi scrapper. I don't have a lot of experience and I'm still constantly learning things about my PSE, but the lovely Leah Faquarson at Funkyplaygrounddesigns.com has allowed me to be a part of her creative team! Here's a layout using her "Document Today" collection.

And this one uses her "Christmas Cookies" collection!

Halloween has come and gone...and so did fall?

What is up with this weather? I seriously just had to switch back to the AC in my house! Did fall come and go with Halloween? hmmm... I am definately in Utah. lol.

Halloween was fun. The kids dressed up as a pirate: And a cute little lady bug:

Hayden ended up going with his friend Cody so me and Suzi went trick or treating to our old ward's neighborhood since we were in Hurricane. I got to see most of my Hurricane friends, even just for a second, it was great to see them! Then me and Suzi handed out treats and Gramma Suzi's and hung out there until Hayden was done at his party then we came home. The kids had a pretty good time I think, and I enjoyed it as well.

Hope everyone else had a safe and happy Halloween as well! We sure did!

Playing catch up...

So much has happened and I have really blogged about anything major lately. We were pretty busy this summer. The most exciting part was that we were finally sealed to Hayden! Bryan and I were married in the temple and Suzi was born under the covenant, but now Hayden has been sealed to our family forever! After that we went on a little family vacation with Bryan's parents and brother up to Salt Lake. We went to Hogle Zoo, Temple Square, Chuck E Cheese, Toys R Us, and Thanksgiving Point to the Dinosaur Museum. The kids loved it and we had a great time!

School has started and Hayden is in 5th grade. It's kinna cool cuz he is going to the same school for 5th grade that I did, different teacher though. Our new house is barely a block away from school and sometimes if we're lucky, me and Suzi can see him on the playground from our deck.

Hayden's school is started and I'm coming to the ending of getting my Associates in Accounting. I will be finished on November 7...However...starting December 1 I will be moving on to my Bachlors in Business, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management.

I haven't really done much creatively in awhile...I've been busy. However, my turn is coming up on the Pebbles Inc blog so be watching for that! When I applied for the PEbbles Inc. team, I thought I'd apply for Leah's Creative Team as well. It's a digi/hybrid team and I have been wanting to get into the digi more so I gave it a shot. I didn't make the team but I did make guest designer for July. Her kit Cherry Pie is just amazing. I love the color combos and thought it would look great with some tulip pictures I have of Miss Suzi. So here is my layout using this awesome kit. Those who know me know that I {heart} Pebbles in My Pocket and Pebbles Inc. I have always loved them since day the day I bought my first supplies back in 1995 from Pebbles In My Pocket. Well Pebbles Inc is having a design team call, which is literally a dream for me to be a part of the Pebbles team. For anyone who does not know, my name is Ginnifer Maloney and I am a part of the ACBailey Design Team. I found ACB by accident a few years ago while I was finding sites to sell crafts on. Because of ACB I have learned what community forums are and how much fun they can be! I've been on the team for over a year now and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I've made a lot of friends and had support through some hard times and I'm very grateful for that. Currently my favorite product available through ACB is (don't be too shocked my friends ;)) is Bazzill In Stitchz! I love the patterns and the finishing touch it adds to my layouts. They are very versitle and you don't even need to actually "stitch" to use them! I like to find different ways to use them including making my own felt embellishments, so check them out in the store! Erica has the complete program available which will get you started on this addiction of mine.

So now for my how-to I'd like to show you how to make some buttons! What you will need are:
Circle punches
Think Chipboard (cereal boxes are perfect!)
Patterned paper (even just scraps)
Paper piercer or something with a sharp point
Glossy Accents by Ranger
adhesive
The first step is to punch your "buttons" out of the chipboard and patterned paper. Then you glue the punched patterned paper circle to the chipboard circle.

Next you poke your button holes. If you don't have a paper peircer (I use the one by Bazzill) then a thumbtack or sewing needle will work.

Once you do that, cover the button with a layer of glossy accents. Try to avoid covering the holes of your buttons, if you accidently do, wait til it's fully dry and peirce again.

Once they have dried and hardened, you will have buttons like these:

Then use them on your layouts and projects! Simple and easy, just a little time consuming while waiting for them to dry, but well worth the wait!

I chopped it off...

after months and months of my hair driving me crazy, I finally chopped it off. I actually did the initial chopping myself. I put my hair in a braid and cut it off. 10 inches exactly, which is perfect because it's exactly the minimum requirement needed for Locks of Love. I've always wanted to donate hair, but as most people who know me may have noticed, my hair is thin. But, I found out that it takes 10-15 donations to make one wig. So, my little bunch can make a set of bangs! lol. Anyways. I'll get a pic and post it tomorrow. I love how the cut turned out. My sis in law does an awesome job on my hair. Oh miss Sue Sue got a haircut too so I'll be posting our new do's tomorrow.

It's been awhile. With the new house, moving, sicknesses, school (I am reverting to my teenage years and saying out loud "ALGEBRA SUCKS!" lol) and just life in general I've been letting the blog suffer. So here are a few updates:

Most of you already know that I just bought a house. I've been promising pictures forever so I thought I'd finally post some. Start at the end of this post and work up to see it start at before and work up to remodel pics. I can't ever get my blogger photos to upload right so I'm just leaving them as is. As you can see, lots of funky colors have been covered up thank goodness and as rooms begin to finish I'll post those as well.

These are the shelves already in the laundry room that also has a built in table so guess what? I've finally got my own scrap room!

This is the kitchen in puke purple. This room will be the most changed since we had to order new cabinets, paint it and new appliances. Thanks for looking and I'll post more soon!

November kits are now available at ACBailey Designs! This kit is awesome. It's fall themed, but I live in southern Utah, so the fall weather doesn't happen. It was 80 degrees today, if that tells you anything. ;) So far I've made these two layouts, that are totally non-fall. (is that even a word? lol) The first was taken in March and the colors in the photos matched the papers so well. I also used Glossy Accents

and some Thickers to finish it off.

The second one was taken on the first day of school (it was 100 out, still very much summer weather! lol). I also used some Glossy Accent on this one as well, and one of my favorite things right now!! Bazzill In Stitchz!

Some new ventures (and some old)

Well, I just signed up to be a Scentsy consultant. They are sellers of a wickless candle system that is just awesome. You buy a warmer and the wax comes in bricks. You break a few peices off and place them on top of the warmer and they melt and smell wonderful. Even better, if you want to change your scent but you still have wax in your warmer, you just pour the melted wax back into the original container and switch! Love this stuff. October Dixie Pieces Reveal!

This month's Dixie Pieces kit just screams "Halloween!" This kit has so much in it, I still can make at least 3 more layouts with the goodies. It's well worth the $28.00. This first one is one of my most favorite layouts I've done. I used a piercing tool to scratch along the mummy paper "Seams" then wrinkled and rolled them and love the after result!

This next one uses Core'dinations as the base. It is so much fun to play with! I just sanded the front of the black and the orange core shows through!

I like how this one turned out. The skull and cross bones is Tim Holtz Grunge board, so is the arrow. THe arrow I just inked it with some chalk ink and the skull I just used my Signo White pen to do some outlining.

Lastly, this is a paper mache witches hat by Provo Craft I picked up at Roberts. I just painted the base with green acrylic paint, then painted on crackle medium, then covered it in black so that green shows through the black cracks. Then I decopauged (Spelling?) torn strips of paper into the cone part then sealed it with another coat of the glue. The buckle is one of the acrylic shapes from the kit, covered in paper and that's another grungeboard skull and cross bones; and for that I colored it in with my white pen again then used glossy meduim over the top, giving it a more dimensional look.

So I've started another blog. This will be a blog to sort of document the quest for a healthier me I am starting now. It's my reveal day for my August ACB projects. Well, sort of, technically I could post them starting Saturday, but life happens. Anyways, the first set of products I got to use were from Bo Bunny. THey are the "futbol" collection and they look great with these pictures of Hayden.

Then I got to work with Dream STreet Birdie Bits paper. I LOVE the bright colors of this paper set and made these cards for my make and take projects and my I heart Watermelon layout of Miss Sue Sue.

to post my August Dixie Pieces projects! The kit this month is called Azure dreams. It's got this aqua, tealish, color theme and it's a great kit. There is so much stuff in there it's amazing! I made these layouts, an altered project and still have plenty of paper left, and chipboard! Then I also played with their digi kit "Joy In The Journey". Now, I'm a TOTALLY a digi beginner. So my stuff isn't that great but it's a start! Oh, and that font on the last digi layout...yeah, that's mine. :)

However........I didn't realize that I ordered the same dang things 2 weeks ago and they are sitting in a box next to my scrap supplies!!! I'm a dork!! I can see mistakinly ordering one thing twice, but 2 things from the same orders???? I forgot to post these but they were what I did for the Scrap Scouts Challenge at ACBailey. We've ended the challenge and are having a "scrap-off" to determine the second place winner! It'll be exciting to see what those ladies come up with!
This one was for the Flower Power Badge. You had to use 10+ flowers and I think I did it!

THis one was for the Altered art Badge. I just altered a composition book for my niece Jayde. I made the butterfly out of Maya Road chipboard petals and buttons...isn't it cute?

This one was for power of 3, you had to use scraps, doodling and 15+ of one item and I chose to use buttons. I used some leftover Cherry ARte "Boy Story" papers for this one.

This one was for the Class I hosted. It was a Stamping Badge class and the challenge was to use at least 3 stamps and no patterned paper. Patterns in anything else was ok, just no patterned paper. I was impressed with the ladies work.

And this one was for the Journaling Badge. It had to have 7 lines of journaling. I have been wanting to do this picture for ever and this whole layout came about so easily. Plus that's a chipboard scalloped circle from Fancy Pants that I've wanted to use forever and finally got to use it!

June Dixie Pieces "Milky Way"

So it's the first of the month so I thought I 'd share my works from the June Dixie Pieces "Milky Way" kit. It contained paper and transparancies from Fancy Pants "About a Boy" line and some yummy Cosmo Cricket, which I was excited to use because they fit so perfect for some of my son's soccer photos. I loved the bright colors and highly recommend this kit to everyone!

So, we are having a blast over at ACBailey Designs with our Scrap Scouts challenge. We're down to the last 2 weeks and it's my class this week!

I haven't posted in awhile so I thought I'd post some of my recent stuff for the challenge. TFL! Notice the one that says "SISTERS" I painted stickles on and let it dry. Then I put on Glossy Accents by Ranger and let it dry and they look tiles and I love the look. I've been using Glossy Accents a lot lately and I love it.

I'm trying to work on a script font and the program is just not cooperating, I can't figure anything out and I'm just not getting productive answers from the support forum. Ugh.. the past two weeks I've been so busy! I can't even tell you why! Ever had that happen? I am now officially on the last week of my first block of school..2 months down..hopefully only 18 more to go. So far I'm getting A's in both classes so as long as my final projects work out ok, then I should end with an A. Wish me luck!

Also, I'm having major scrapping withdrawls. Homework, digital projects, spring break, babysitting and sleepovers have my time completely occupied and I just want to scrap! I'm finally on the ACBailey Designs DT and I've got my supplies in the corner calling my name...I am setting a goal to be scrapping tomorrow night no matter what!! Well, I'll have to make sure my homeworks done but after that I don't care what my house looks like I am going to scrap!

Back in September I heard about this kit club called Dixie Pieces. I hung out and tried for the dt call they had there. Well, I didn't make it but have been hanging around because the community is great and a friend of mine is the DT coordinator. They had another DT call so I thought I'd try out just for fun and I am happy to say, I am now a DT member for www.dixiepieces.com! I'm so excited! So that makes 2 DT for me, and I am good with that. I love to show loyalty to the places to love and now I'm part of the two teams that I've always wanted to be a part of. Thank you Sherry and Brenna! I won't let you down!

Sorta...I'm not totally converted or anything..I love getting paper dust all over the place, accidently getting paint on my shirt and ink all over my fingertips...so it's just an addition to. Anyways I've been looking at ADobe Photo Shop Elements for awhile now and I found out you can try it free for 30 days so I thought why not and here's 2 layouts I made with it! The papers and elements were all downloaded from the internet. Design team submissions are due by midnight Pacific time, March 28th.DixiePieces is a monthly kit company that will celebrate it first anniversary in November 2008. We are building a business and community that caters to scrapbookers and paper crafters; our kits offer the latest quality papers and embellishments from leading manufacturers. We’re looking for three designers to add to our design team who are committed to scrapbooking and also willing to create in other paper arts fields.
Our Goals:• Deliver products and designs to our customers that encourage and inspire them to document their lives and enjoy their journey.• Build an online community of scrapbookers and paper crafters who use the DixiePieces’ website as a place of encouragement, honesty and grace where we can all feel comfortable, have fun, and share our knowledge and creativity.

I can't believe my little Sue Sue is 2! She amazes me every moment of everyday. I absolutely love her at this age! I am constantly laughing at the silly things she does and says and every time I look at her I can't help but smile! Here are some pictures from her birthday. I decorated her cake using cricut cut outs.. I ran out of time or I would have done more. The sad thing is that is the only thing I've done with my cricut since Christmas! The gift I just had to have has hardly been used! But watch out! I'm going Cricut crazy this week!

New Addition

We've got a new family Member!! Izzy joined our family yesterday! She's a beautiful Boxer puppy and I absolutely adore her! I'm so not a dog person. If you ask anyone that knows me well, they can tell you that me and dogs just don't mix. She was my brother's dog and he needed to find her a new home and was asking my mom to take her but she couldn't. I happened to be with my mom when he was trying to arrange it and I mentioned it was tempting. You see, we used to have a dog, actually my husband had a dog before we were married and once we were married we still had him. Eventually we had to let him go because he was so territorial he was biting me when he was under the bed and I would come into the bedroom. My husband is a truck driver and the dog was used to protecting him so I was like invading their space. There's a lot more to it but I won't get into it. Long story short, we surrendered the dog to the shelter. (He ended up in a good home and he's very happy, we've seen him tons of times!) Anyways, the point I'm getting at is that Bryan had it set in his mind that we wouldn't be getting a dog anytime soon, which is sad because he is a big time animal-lover-got-to-have-a-pet type of person, I'm not. But yesterday we went to Petco because he wanted to "look". I didn't want to come home with a stinky hamster, gerbil, noisy bird, or fish that die every couple of days so I kept saying no, but he didn't know I talked to my mom and arranged to be the one to take Izzy. So yesterday, my family was in shock when my brother showed up with our new dog. I think my hubby is still shocked. (He was upset for months after we had to let his other dog go). But she is so good! Very mellow. She loves to play but will snuggle too. She has to be trained still in some areas but she's very smart. I'm sure she'll get it. But at least she's housebroken!

I scrapped my halloween pics from this year and I absolutely love the SR salem line. I just used the scrap strip paper and I'm totally wishing I bought all the paper. But I'm out of halloween pics so I guess you snooze, ya loose right? I also finished a Christmas present for a friend. I found this sign thing at a thrift store and bought it for $1. Yes $1! So I repainted it with and crackled it and love the results. The letters and flower are chipboard! I love the subtle dimension on it. I absolute LOVE how it turned out. I'm going to so something similar for my own home. I used to hate to paint my chipboard, but now that I've crackled it, holy cow! Don't be suprised if the technique is on my next dozen layouts!

A sorrowful ending

to the joy I won't see.

An empty feeling
in my heart and my womb,

Praying for the comfort,

that will take away this gloom.

Everyday is getting better,

day by day I see a light.

But knowing that my baby's gone,

in my heart, will never be right.

So I'll take joy in the children beside me,

and in the husband I hold dear,

Church bulletin board

I was asked several months ago to take care of our ward's bulletin board for Relief Society. I've really enjoyed it, but I always forget to take pictures. So today, as I was doing Novembers, I actually had my camera. The lighting inside the hallway isn't that great but you get it. I love the scarecrow. I turned some clipart into a paper piecing pattern and this is what came of it.

Here's my facts:

1. I cannot sleep in total darkness or silence, so I sleep with the tv on all night. (dh is same way)
2. I love to sing, but the only ones who get to hear me are under the age of 10!
3. I met my husband on yahoo personals.
4. I sleep "upside down" a majority of the time, meaning my head is at the foot of the bed and feet at the top. I know, wierd, but it works.
5. I live .6 miles from my parents (i've clocked it out of curiosity)
6. I am not a pets person.
7. I went to school to be a medical receptionist but realized that I have a phobia of answering phones and making calls. I'm serious. I don't even answer my cell phone if I don't know who it is.

Pebbles Inc..

Here's a double page layout I did for the online crop at JYSH.org. I used all Pebbles Inc products. It's from their new "My Girl" collection. I have been a huge fan of Pebbles Inc. since I was 18 and bought my first scrapbooking supplies from Pebbles In My Pocket. I did it! I did it! I finally did it!! Thanks to the wonderful Marci Knecht I was reminded that Just Your Scrapbooking Headquarters (www.jysh.org) was looking for DT member so I applied and I made it! I'm so freakin excited! They have their first cyber crop coming up on the 12th so be sure to check it out!

So, recently I submitted for yet another DT position. At first I didn't want to put myself through that heartache again when I'm not picked, but once again, something told me to do it anyways. It's a new kit club site and I'm really liking the owners and the other members there. I'm really wanting to be on this DT but I'm pretty sure I'll stick around after the call even if I don't get picked. That's what drives me crazy about DT Calls. You find a good "home" to hang out and they'll get a ton of new members just during the call and if the memebers don't make it, they disappear! I could just start applying to every DT call that comes out but I like to make sure it's a place I want to be regardless of dt membership or not. So all those who applied for Dixie Pieces like me, GOOD LUCK! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

This is yet another one from ACBailey's scrap groovin party. I love how this turned out. It's pretty simple but I'm loving it because I almost didn't have the pictures of my son in his first year. They were taken from me by my ex but when I was downsizing some stuff I found Christmas cards that I never sent with pictures of my boy in them!
